Stamina-recovering recipes are usually confined to Elixirs or require very specific food ingredients.īecause Breath of the Wild is open-world, the Stamina Vessels are the better option.There are more recipes that give Link Temporary Hearts than there are recipes that give Temporary Stamina.Less HP means Link may need to rely more on HP-recovery meals/elixirs.Stamina will regenerate as Link walks or stands still.Link can climb/paraglide/swim longer with more Stamina.Certain Shrine Quests will be more challenging with less Stamina.Less Stamina means Link will tire out quicker while gliding, climbing, swimming, or using Charged Attacks.There are more recipes that restore HP than there are that restore Stamina.More health means less reliance on HP recovery items.Since I like the Skyrim approach of going over things rather than around them, that's what I do. It lets you climb any slope enough to reach a spot you can regain stamina at. The second stamina wheel is, in my experience, enough to let you climb / swim anything. The reason I do this is because there are a lot of cliffs, mountains, and steep slopes that are literally unclimbable without food bonuses if you only have the base wheel. In my current playthrough I just beat a boss and got a heart container, but prior to that I had done the entire game only taking stamina. I almost always go for stamina first, up to that first full wheel and sometimes more, then hearts after that. I guess I'm a bit of an outlier here, but I find the game becomes much more open and exploration-friendly with at least an extra full wheel of stamina.
